Background: Genichi, or Gen-chan as his friends call him, was raised to be an academic in a small, inclusive fishing town in Western Japan by a very traditional family. As a result, he was very bookish and shy, but held an innate attraction to all things rebellious and against the norm. That’s why he’s a fan of manga like Getter Robo and Devilman, and why his best friend growing up was the town rebel.
When he was 14 years old, his friend convinced him to cut class during a school trip to the city to watch a live Keijo race. In his hometown, Keijo was generally considered to be no better than pornography, and no one in his family was permitted to even watch a race on TV. Thinking that watching the match would be like fulfilling some kind of forbidden sex fantasy (he was a sexually repressed 14-year-old understand), Genichi went along with his friend. Characters I Would Love to Play With: I would absolutely adore and love any character from KeijoGen-chan would be over the moon if any Keijo player talked to him, but these characters below are my wishlist. Even though I intend to mostly play Genichi in the Love Hotel, I would be open even to just CR with any of these characters.
Sayaka Miyata: While Genichi has become an admirer of all the ladies of room 309 after the Class Exchange Arc (and he was even impressed with them before that during the entrance exam (I’m assuming he was able to watch it since the reporters were)), two of them in particular hold a special place in his heart. Miyata-san is one of them. She initially caught his eye from changing sports from Judo to Keijo (he thought that was the sort of thing a movie would be made about), but after seeing her beat Rin Rokudo, he became completely enamored. In a professional sense of course. Though if he ever managed to work up the courage to speak to her, he would not be opposed to his adoration becoming… more than professional.Also he plays a lot of video games, so he knows that the speed based character is always the best.
Kazane Aoba: Aoba-san is the other former 309 resident whom Genichi really admires, and he might actually admire her the most of all. While his interest in most Keijo players is actually professional admiration, he harbors a very real crush on Aoba. While most Keijo players rely on physical ability, Aoba specializes in information and analysis, which is something Genichi himself does. Combine that with the fact that she seems to be just as shy as he is from what he’s seen of passing her in the hallway, and he feels a special kinship with her. If only he wasn’t afraid that he’d burst into flames if he so much as spoke to her…
Mio Kusakai: While Genichi has kind of figured that Mio prefers the fairer sex, he was still a huge fan of hers when he first saw her in the entrance exam. And while his admiration of her has taken a hit from seeing her use a forbidden technique, he still thinks she’s an excellent player and would love to at least be able to talk to her about her perspective on the sport. But if he ever tells you that he has never even thought about what it would be like to be hypnotized by her boobs, then he’s a goddamn liar.
Nagisa Ujibe: After Genichi became a fanboy of Keijo, it took him no time at all to read the stories of the Alluring Siren, and to fallprofessionally in love with her and the stories of her victories… and to feel sorrow at her retirement.
